Bookings & Payments
Start by submitting an enquiry via our Contact page or our online booking form. One of our travel designers will reach out within 24 hours to discuss your vision, dates, and preferences. Once we agree on an itinerary, we will send you a formal booking confirmation and payment details. Your reservation is only confirmed upon receipt of your deposit.
We accept bank transfers (local and international), mobile money (Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba), and where available, major debit and credit cards. All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise agreed. Please note that international transfer fees are the responsibility of the sender.
A deposit of 30% of the total journey value is required within 5 business days of receiving your confirmation. The remaining balance is due 60 days before your departure date. For bookings made within 60 days of travel, full payment is required upfront. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all prices are per person based on double occupancy (two people sharing). Single supplement charges apply for solo travellers. Group pricing is available for parties of 6 or more — contact us for a tailored quote.
Yes, for domestic packages we can invoice in Malawian Kwacha at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of invoicing. International packages are priced in USD to protect both parties from currency fluctuation. We will always be transparent about which currency applies to your journey.
Our Journeys
We are an atelier, not a booking engine. Every journey we design is crafted around you — your pace, your interests, your definition of luxury. We have exclusive relationships with the finest lodges, guides, and private operators in Malawi, giving you access to experiences that simply cannot be found online. Our team is on the ground, and we accompany your journey from enquiry to homecoming.
Absolutely — bespoke design is our speciality. Our signature packages are starting points for inspiration. Tell us your travel dates, who you are travelling with, your interests (wildlife, culture, water, adventure, relaxation), and your budget, and we will craft an itinerary entirely from scratch. There is no extra charge for a bespoke consultation.
Malawi is a year-round destination, but the experience varies by season. May to October is the dry season — ideal for safaris, hiking, and lake activities. Water is clear, wildlife is concentrated around water sources, and skies are blue. November to April is the green season — lush landscapes, fewer crowds, lower prices, and exceptional birdwatching. Our team can advise on the best time for your specific interests.
Yes. While Malawi is our home and deepest expertise, we design journeys across Southern and East Africa — including Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, and South Africa — as well as international destinations for our clients who travel further afield. Ask us about our International Explorer packages.
Logistics & Visas
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens of many countries — including the UK, USA, most of the EU, and much of Africa — can enter Malawi visa-free for stays up to 30–90 days. Others may require a visa on arrival or a pre-arranged visa. We will advise you on the specific requirements for your passport and assist with the process where possible. Always verify entry requirements with the official Malawian immigration authorities or your country's embassy before travel.
We strongly recommend consulting a travel health clinic or your GP at least 6–8 weeks before departure. Commonly recommended precautions include malaria prophylaxis, yellow fever vaccination (if arriving from an endemic country), and routine vaccinations. We are not medical professionals and this is not medical advice — please seek guidance from a qualified health provider.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance for all clients. For certain remote safari itineraries, it is a requirement. Your policy should cover: trip cancellation, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and personal liability. Please share your insurer's emergency contact number with us before you travel. See our Terms & Conditions for more detail.
Malawi's main international gateway is Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) in Lilongwe, with Chileka International Airport (BLZ) in Blantyre serving as the secondary hub. Airlines connecting Malawi to major hubs include Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, South African Airways, and Fastjet. We can assist with flight recommendations and, for select packages, arrange private charter options within the region.

Policies
Cancellation fees vary based on how far in advance you cancel. Cancellations more than 90 days before departure result in loss of deposit only; cancellations within 30 days of departure are non-refundable. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions. This is why we recommend comprehensive travel insurance with cancellation cover.
If something falls short during your journey, please tell your guide or our emergency contact immediately so we can resolve it in real time. Formal complaints must be submitted in writing to info@primevista.mw within 28 days of your return. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and provide a full response within 28 days.
